Most of us would indicate that we have faith in God without even thinking about what having that faith really means. Faith is best defined as: “Belief in ACTION.” In other words, faith does not happen without a display of that faith.
You must have a direction for your life as defined by Purpose, Promises, PATHWAYS and Partners. We have dealt with Purpose and Promises and will deal with Partners later. Now in this section we will be working on Pathways. This begins a section that is more practical about your approach to your faith and less philosophical than those that come before. This is the section where you must begin to take action. Just remember that in all cases where you take action it must be in line with your life Purpose and the Promises you made to God.
The Pathways section has three sections, Vision, Milestones and Initiatives. Think of your Vision as a description of the life you desire with God that has the beginning of its path on the other side of a river. In order to reach that defined Vision you must put stepping stones in the river to allow you to cross. However, those stepping stones will not stay in place without columns. Those columns are your Initiatives. If you are using our Personal Life Software, you will have a third item which are your individual steps. That is covered in the instructions to the software.
Pathways Introduction
The first step in your Pathway development is to set out a vision for the future. This next video will help you understand the importance of a vision as well as some of the important characteristics of a vision.
It is important that you always ensure that God is working with you in formulating your vision for the future. The next video will emphasize that important relationship that you must use in bringing to your life a God centered vision.
When writing your vision, you should pretend you are a reporter and write from that perspective. Write as if you have been transported into some future time and are now recounting the events that took place that allowed you to achieve your dreams for the future. In this next video, you will see an example of a vision and learn some tips in writing your vision.
Once you have identified your milestones, you will develop initiatives to support each milestone. Think of these as columns holding up your stepping stones (milestones). Some wish to go beyond initiatives and form steps for each milestone. If you have access to our Personal Life Software, you may use that to develop your plan for your Journey with Jesus. Contact us if you need information about the software.
Remember that the way you create a pathway with your walk with Jesus is to first establish a Life Purpose with God, make Promises to God that you will never break then, use those two item to forge that Pathway. The Pathway is made of your visions of the future, the milestones that act as stepping stones taking you from where you ware to where you desire to be and initiatives that support those milestones. Establish the dates as to when you can complete each step in your initiative. These should be the dates you CAN do not the ones by which you want to complete the step. This is referred to capability planning meaning that you are setting realistic dates for completion.
In the next video you will learn about the last section of the framework, your partners. No one can succeed without having partners that are of like mind and faith. Remember that your most important partner will always be Jesus in that walk into your future.
