Learning as a Champion

Before parents and students begin the college experience, they should use this program to be prepared. Being prepared can reduce disappointment and loss of funds.Much attention is focused on the academic readiness of the student. However, in my years in education as a teacher, administrator, and university chancellor, I rarely found students who could not academically make the grade. Yet many dropped out in the first year. These students failed to be prepared in areas such as the ability to use critical thinking skills, to ask all the right questions, to determine what matters most, to be a master of their time, an understanding of the relationship between themselves and the college and knowing how attending college fits within a total life framework.This program will help parents and students take a fresh look at college and understand how to be certain that the foundation is in place to support the effort.
