Hopefully we all reach the point where we are ready to hang up the past and move on to a new adventure in retirement. Most of us look forward to that date in great anticipation. We know in retirement that we can do anything we want. But, the question is what do we want?Planning for retirement is more than just ensuring the money is there. It is about planning your life for a new and different set of adventures. Knowing what matters most during this time is critical to making your dreams come true. I have been down the retirement road myself. I didn’t even think about needing a plan. Soon after leaving the job, I was lost. I thought I knew what I wanted to do, and in a way, I did. But without a plan I found myself wandering from here to there. I even found myself looking at times for that old job back again. Learning an entirely new way of life was not easy. Luckily, I had written Living as a Champion. That book is directed to those in the career growth period. It was clear to me that the same principles would apply to my retirement.
